HISTORY OF CAMBARÁ DO SUL -Like most of the Towns of the Campos de Cima da Serra, it originated from the capture of the cattle left by the Jesuits in the region, to be sold in Sorocaba. Formerly inhabited by nomadic Indigenous people, the Brasis , descendants of the Kaigangues and Xocléns, who built their dwellings in holes dug at the edge of the hills and stayed there for some time, its origin is linked to the fulfillment of a vow made by Dona Ursula Maria da Conceição to the Church in honor of her patron saint, São José , thus giving rise to the municipality, which remained part of São Francisco de Paula until 1963. The name has a Tupi Guarani origin , Cambará means Rough Bark , the name of a tree typical of the region, with light-colored leaves, used to fight flu and coughs. Also known as the Capital of Honey and Canyons, its low temperatures place it first among the coldest places in the Country. ACCOMMODATION-POUSADA CORUCACAS- Located just 1 km from downtown Cambará do Sul, Pousada Corucacas is on the Fazenda Baio Ruano and is the ideal retreat for those who want to calmly enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the region. Surrounded by flora and fauna, the property offers a variety of leisure activities, including horseback rides, hiking trails, fishing and waterfall swims in the summer. In the common area, the warmth comes from the fireplace and the chimarrão; outside, nature shows itself magnificently, with green fields, araucaria forest and a lake. 1ST DAY -THURSDAY -ITINERARY 01-POA/SÃO FRANCISCO DE PAULA /TAINHAS/CAMBARÁ DO SUL -ITAIMBEZINHO/CASCATA DAS ANDORINHAS/CASCATA VÉU DE NOIVA/SÍTIO DO SEU MARÇAL E DONA MARIA /HONEY COOPERATIVE/HOTEL CHECK-IN -(OPTIONS AT THE END OF THE ITINERARY) FREE EVENING 

Departure at 06:00 from Largo da EPATUR -Leaving for Cambará do Sul via São Francisco de Paula, located 125 km from POA. There we will take a 2km walk around the beautiful Lago São Bernardo, a place of peace, tranquility and fresh air. Besides the beautiful local fauna and flora, we will also see the Famous Hotel Cavalinho Branco. This Hotel occupies the historic building of an old casino built in 1930, which lay in ruins until the 70s, when it was renovated to become this famous hotel.

We will drive another 40 km toward Cambará do Sul, where, in the municipality of Tainhas, we will have a delicious breakfast at a local establishment (OPTIONAL BREAKFAST).

After Breakfast we will head to the Parque Nacional dos Aparados da Serra (OPTIONAL ADMISSION NOT INCLUDED). The Park is a Brazilian conservation unit for the full Protection of nature, located in the Serra Geral and encompassing several Canyons over 13 thousand Hectares, on the natural border between the states of RGS AND SC. We will visit the most famous and most visited Canyon in the Region, ITAIMBEZINHO, 130 million years old. Its name comes from Tupi Guarani and means Sharp Stone . It is 6km long , 750 meters high, and up to two meters wide. We will do two trails: The Trilha do Vértice is 3km round trip and takes more or less 02:00 hours. On it we will see the beginning of the canyon where the two walls meet, the Cascata das Andorinhas, formed by a large volume of water that runs along the Rio Perdiz and falls from a height of 700 meters toward the bottom of the Canyon, and the Cascata Véu de Noiva, formed by the Preá stream. As impressive as the waterfalls is the feeling of walking along the edges of the Canyon. On the way back from this trail we will stop at the old Sítio do seu Marçal e da Dona Maria, where local handicrafts are made and we can have a snack. (OPTIONAL NOT INCLUDED). The second trail is the Trilha do Cotovelo . It is a 06km round-trip route and takes 03:00 hours. It is a somewhat long walk , but at an easy level, since it is on a flat, open trail. We will see lookouts with spectacular views of the Canyon walls and of the Rio do Boi, which runs at the bottom of the PERAU (As the locals say ) From there we will be able to see practically the whole Canyon. On the way back we will have a trail snack (OPTIONAL NOT INCLUDED). On leaving the park we will stop at a honey producers’ cooperative. The town hosts the Festa do Mel, and there the Honey-based products are of excellent quality. Afterwards we will do the HOTEL CHECK-IN –FREE EVENING

2ND DAY -FRIDAY-ITINERARY 02-CAMBARÁ DO SUL -CANION FORTALEZA/CASCATA DO TIGRE PRETO /TRILHA DA PEDRA DO SEGREDO /SITIO QUERÊNCIA MACANUDA

 Departure at 09:00 After Breakfast for a Trail at Cânion Fortaleza

Cânion Fortaleza is the main attraction of the Parque dos Aparados (OPTIONAL ADMISSION NOT INCLUDED).  It forms an ecosystem of rare beauty with countless springs of crystal-clear rivers and a rich biodiversity that fully justifies its conservation and the sustainable management of its resources. It is the largest canyon in Brazil, 08 km long , 2km wide and 950 meters deep . The name comes from its geological shape, which resembles a fortress. Its formation dates back more than one hundred million years, from intense volcanic activity that occurred during the process of separation of the African and South American Continents. We will do two trails The first is the Trilha da Pedra do Segredo, which takes around 02:00 hours. Near the vertex of the canyon, it takes us to the Cascata do Tigre Preto, with a drop of almost 900 meters. After the Waterfall we will continue to the famous Pedra do Segredo, an enormous block of rock 5 meters high and weighing 30 tons that curiously balances on a narrow base of only 50 cm at the edge of the canyon. The second trail is the Trilha do Mirante, lasting 03:00 hours. This trail takes us to the highest point of the Canyon, at 1350 meters high , thus the highest in RGS. From there you can get an overview of the canyon , as well as another beautiful waterfall with three tiers that plunges to the bottom of the canyon. We also have a panoramic view of the southern coast of Santa Catarina and the northern coast of RGS, including Praia de Torres. Between the two trails we will stop for a Trail Snack (OPTIONAL NOT INCLUDED)and rest. On leaving the Park we will stop at Sítio Querência Macanuda, 03 km from Cambará do Sul. It is home to the Sabores da Querência agribusiness. It belongs to a couple, a man from Rio de Janeiro and a woman from Rio Grande do Sul, who in 2009 decided to seek a simpler life and moved to Cambará do Sul, amid nature. There they produce jams and antipasti famous for the quality of their products. All grown organically on the property. There we will be able to do the tasting (OPTIONAL) .After the Tasting, return to the Hotel –

EVENING -BARBECUE /FOGO DE CHÃO AT THE INN WITH AN ACCORDION PLAYER -INCLUDED-DRINKS NOT INCLUDED –Beef, two or three cuts, country sausage or chicken, all served on a wooden platter, caramelized squash or sweet potato, mayonnaise salad, rice, cassava, 4 salads and two desserts.

3RD DAY-SATURDAY ITINERARY 03-CAMBARÁ DO SUL-04 WATERFALLS-LOOKOUT /CENTURY-OLD XAXINS/CASCATA DO ALTAR/CASCATA DO TIO FRANÇA /CASCATA LAGEADO DAS MARGARIDAS/CACHOEIRA DOS VENÂNCIOS

Departure at 09:00. After breakfast-we will do a 01:00-hour round-trip trail to a lookout on one of the highest hills in the region, from where you can see the whole town. Then we will go to the First Waterfall-The Cascata do Altar, which got this name because of its shape. The water plunges over a rock that resembles the altar of a religious temple. On the way we walk a trail through a forest with countless century-old xaxim specimens The Second Waterfall is the Cascata do Tio França. The trail also takes around 01:00 hour round trip, and has no degree of difficulty at all. It is located 03 km from Cambará do Sul , where the Campo Bom stream plunges off a rock to form one of the many waterfalls in the region. At this Waterfall we will be able to take great swims. After the swim we will have a trail snack (OPTIONAL)  .The Third Waterfall is at Lageado das Margaridas, 12 km from Cambará do Sul, and its trail takes 01:00 hour. This Waterfall is formed by the Rio Camisas. At this point the river spreads over a large rock bed more than 100meters long, forming shallow natural pools amid rapids and stone slabs in a unique spot. The last waterfall to be visited is the Cachoeira dos Venâncios, and the trail lasts 01:00 hour. It is 23km from Cambará do Sul, on the border with the municipality of Jaquirana. It is considered one of the most beautiful in the region. Formed by the Rio Camisas , it has 04 waterfalls of different heights with crystal-clear, limpid water allowing swims and relaxing natural massages. Return to the Hotel –FREE EVENING
